     Joseph John Elmlinger was born on 5 January 1873 at Norwich Township, Huron, Ohio, USA.2,3,4,5 He was baptized on 12 January 1873 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Bismark, Sherman Township, Huron, Ohio, USA.6,7 He lived in June 1900 at Sherman Township, Huron, Ohio, USA.3 He married Cora Mary Schreiner, daughter of Martin Schreiner and Anna Maria Krupp, after 1910.8 Joseph John Elmlinger was spent 4 years as the Recorder for Huron County in Norwalk and was active in county government and politics. His brother John was also a Recorder and likewise active.6 He and Cora Mary Schreiner lived in January 1920 at Havana, Norwich Township, Huron, Ohio.9 Joseph John Elmlinger was partnered with George VanHorn in a general merchandise store called “VanHorn & Elmlinger”, a brick building in Havana. Havana had their own brick yard and the store was located there. George’s uncle Fran Van Horn had started the store and the partnership purchased the business from him. Joseph Elmlinger later bought out his partner and owned and operated the store. It was passed on to his son Martin who did likewise at Havana, Huron, Ohio, USA.6 He lived in April 1952 at Havana, Norwich Township, Huron, Ohio.2 He died on 21 April 1952 at Willard Hospital, Willard, Huron, Ohio, USA, at age 79; Obituaries in Willard Times (Willard Ohio) and Norwalk Reflector (Norwalk Ohio.)2,4 He was buried on 23 April 1952 at Section C, Row 5, grave 6, St. Sebastian Catholic Cemetery, Bismark, Sherman Township, Huron, Ohio.2,10,6
